The committee has emphasized that he is a diligent student, with good results – and like H.C. Andersen, he is curious and adventurous. He is a breaker that comes from an unskilled family and in her speech, chairman of the award committee for the Travelling Companion, Birgitte Bøgh-Sørensen said:
- Curiosity drives him - you could say to the end of the world, where he will again see new horizons.
Kenneth Kristensen has even planned and organized a study in Kyoto, Japan, where he among other things are going to be taught in subjects like Japanese culture, Japanese society welfare in Asia and International Sociology. In preparation for the journey, he participates in an intensive language course. Because of this particular diligence, curiosity and adventurousness the committee chose Kenneth as a recipient of the Travelling Companion in 2015.
